Everything you need to know to sell your projects successfully
Creating a Listing
Step 1: Choose Listing Type
When creating a new project, you'll choose from:
- Sell - Transfer ownership, set price, include sale items
- Seek Co-founder/Investor - Looking for equity/funding partners
- Showcase - Promote your project without selling
- Draft - Save and continue later
Step 2: Import or Create
You can either fetch project details automatically or enter them manually:
- Fetch from site: Enter your project homepage URL and we'll auto-populate name, description, logo, and screenshots
- Start from scratch: Enter all details manually
Step 3: Core Details
Fill in the essential information:
- Project name (required) - Clear, descriptive title
- One-line pitch (required, 80 chars max) - Your elevator pitch
- Description (required, 100-2,000 chars) - Full project details, features, tech stack
- Markets/industries - Select up to 5 relevant categories
- Tech stack - Technologies used (React, Next.js, Supabase, etc.)
Step 4: Media & Screenshots
Visuals are crucial for attracting buyers:
- Upload up to 5 screenshots (5MB each)
- Drag-and-drop or file browser
- At least 1 screenshot required for live listings
Step 5: Pricing & Financials
Set your asking price and share revenue metrics (optional but recommended):
- Asking price (required, minimum $100)
- Monthly/Annual revenue (optional) - Helps buyers assess value
- Business model - Subscription, one-time, freemium, etc.
Managing Offers
When buyers make offers, you'll receive notifications via email and in-app. You can:
- Accept - Agree to the offer price and proceed to payment
- Reject - Decline the offer (buyer can make a new offer)
- Counter - Propose a different price and negotiate
- Chat - Communicate directly with buyers through our messaging system
Payment & Payouts
Commission Structure
We charge a simple 5% platform commission only when you make a sale:
- Free accounts: up to 3 listings (marketplace + showcase combined). Premium: unlimited
- 5% platform commission on successful sales (lowest in the industry)
- Example: Sell for $4,000 → You receive $3,800 (we take $200)
Escrow Protection
All payments go through 7-day escrow for your protection:
- Buyer pays → Funds held in escrow
- You transfer code/access to buyer
- Buyer confirms receipt → Funds released automatically
- Auto-release after 7 days if buyer doesn't confirm
Stripe Connect Setup
To receive payouts, you'll need to connect your Stripe account:
- Click "Connect Stripe" in your dashboard
- Complete Stripe onboarding (2-5 minutes)
- Provide business/tax information
How long until funds are payoutable? Funds typically become payoutable after a short clearing period (commonly 0–7 days) and, once a payout is initiated, bank transfers usually arrive in 1–5 business days (commonly 1–3 days). New Stripe Connect accounts may have a probation period of up to 90 days. Factors that affect timing include payment method, account verification status, disputes/reserves, and currency conversions. Check your Stripe Dashboard for exact availability details.
Tips for Success
- Be transparent: Share accurate revenue numbers, tech stack, and project status. Buyers appreciate honesty.
- High-quality screenshots: Show your project in action. First impressions matter.
- Respond quickly: Buyers move fast. Respond to offers and messages within 24 hours.
- Price competitively: Research similar projects. Overpricing leads to no offers.
- Consider Premium: Featured listings get 3x more views. $4.99/month can be worth it for high-value projects.
